The availability of large quantities of low-cost fuel and good export channels have made the Middle East a centre for heavy industry.

ERAS has worked on a number of heavy industry projects, looking at market potential and project feasibility. We have a strong knowledge of the geology and natural resources of the region as well as the major players.

Recent projects in Heavy Industry:

Pressure vessels, storage tanks and heat exchangers

This feasibility study of the market for pressure vessels, tanks and heat exchangers covered Saudi Arabia and surrounding markets. As part of the study we surveyed all key players in the oil, gas, petrochemicals, power generation and desalination sectors in the GCC and developed long term investment forecasts. Major licensors in the US, Europe, Japan and India were surveyed as potential partners.

Seamless pipe manufacturing

This project consisted of market analysis, plant feasibility and assessment of technology and partner companies.

White cement

ERAS prepared a commercial and technical study of establishing a new white cement plant in the Western region of Saudi Arabia. Work included an assessment of mineral resources.

Industrial equipment: market audit

A large Saudi industrial equipment agency required a market audit for a wide range of products. The audit included estimating market size for key product groups, and assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the clients products and services, as well as those of its competitors.

The study included the development of detailed market strategies for each of the key product ranges, with a view to increasing market share and margins.
