ERAS has extensive experience in the Power & Water sector, working with utilities, project developers, financial institutions and government bodies.
Our work in the Power & Water sector covers policy issues – deregulation, power pool and dispatch operations, fuel mix and renewables – and commercial projects – price forecasts by zone and hour, asset valuation, competition analysis, identification of generation and infrastructure opportunities, commercial due diligence, tolling agreements and technology appraisal. Recent projects in Power & Water:Power and water efficiency studyOn behalf of a government body, ERAS completed a major study on the current efficiency levels of the country’s power and water markets. The project involved determination of consumption levels at household and commercial levels, relying on limited data sources. Efficiency levels were then benchmarked against similar countries and suggestions were made for demand-side management and other policy measures. IPP and IWPP commercial adviceERAS has undertaken strategic and contractual advice and commercial forecasts of water, power and gas markets in support of independent water and power development projects in several areas of the GCC and Middle East. Reverse osmosis desalinationERAS is in the process of analysing the potential for a new joint venture in Saudi Arabia for a start-up company with novel desalination technology. This study involves technical evaluation, preparation of an information prospectus, discussions with government ministries and development of commercial strategy.
